Zaire Anderson
Printmaker
Zaire Anderson acts as the first Fabricator for Powerhouse Arts cross-training in each of our workshops. Zaire is an artist and printmaker with extensive knowledge in screen printing, intaglio, and specialized in copper etching. In her personal art practice, she works in paper and textiles in which she contextualizes Black American culture. Zaire holds a BFA in Printmaking from Purchase College with a minor in Global Black Studies
John Bartolo
Master Printer
John is a master printer at the Powerhouse Arts Print Program. He has been a printmaker for over 18 years and has been working in the art world for over two decades. His career began at a paper restoration studio in Manhattan and this work evolved into his love for printmaking. He studied graphic design at the New School. John’s personal work combines photography and printmaking on different mediums including wood panels, as well as works on paper adding texture to suggest the same life as the wood panels.
Steven Battaglia
Co-Executive Director
Steve brings over a decade of experience in arts institutions to Powerhouse Arts, most recently serving as the Associate Director of Museum Operations at the Rubin Museum of Art. He previously worked as the Operations Manager at Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC), where he was responsible for managing the completion of a new theater construction project and restructuring operations, and at Dixon Place in a variety of different roles. He is a regular contributor to Live Design, a magazine exploring the convergence of entertainment design and technology.

Nellie Davis
Master Printer
Nellie is a master printer and textile fabricator, splitting her time at Powerhouse between the Print and Textile Programs. She earned her B.A. in Russian from Grinnell College and interned at the Obraztsov puppetry theater in Moscow, Russia. She began her career as a costumer, building hats for Sesame St. Live and full body puppets for Jim Henson Productions. In 2002 Nellie began working as a silkscreen printer and continued to work as a stitcher making custom clothing, wedding dresses, and collaborative artworks that involve large scale draping, appliqué, and embroidery. She also enjoys paper-crafting, and painting miniatures and botanical landscapes.
Luther Davis
Print Shop Director
Luther is the Master Printer and Director of the Powerhouse Arts Print Program. Luther teaches printmaking at Parsons School of Design and The Cooper Union. He was the co-founder of Fourth Estate, a fine art publisher focused on producing limited editions with emerging artists, and from 1999-2016 he was the Master Printer and Director of Axelle Editions, a fine art print atelier specializing in screen printing that produced over 300 editions a year with more than 100 artists.
Andrea DiStefano
Operations Manager
As Equipment Procurement Manager, Andrea performs research and planning for equipment that will be commissioned in Powerhouse's metal, wood, fine metal, print, textile, ceramic, and digital fabrication shops. She previously managed the Metal and Wood Facilities at The New School's Making Center, where she developed making capabilities available to students. Before this, she maintained equipment and led workshops, with hands-on knowledge of machines and their uses. She has vast experience fabricating and working in educational shops. Andrea has a BFA in Fine Art from Parsons School of Design and an MFA in Sculpture from Hunter College.
Jeremy Gender
Public Art Project Manager
Coming from a background in multimedia art installation, theater production, volunteer coordinating, and market research consulting for numerous industries, Jeremy found his way to Powerhouse working on the visual-arts crews at The Park Avenue Armory, The Shed, and MoMA PS1. Jeremy grew up in Florida building houses with his dad and stilt-walking for Disney, before migrating to the Northeast in 2002 to join the non-profit arts world.

Master Printer
Dennis has worked as a Fine Art Screen Printer for 17 years and is currently master printer at Powerhouse Arts Print Program. His work can be found in Museums and galleries worldwide and has received the SGIA Golden Image Award. He has studied at The Parsons School of Design, The University of Pennsylvania and is the current President of the Brooklyn Bird Club where he leads weekly migration walks for the public.
Shayna Jeffers
Director of Finance
Brooklyn-born art enthusiast and creator, Shayna has been working in not-for-profit finance and accounting since 2008. As the Financial Manager for Powerhouse, she is able to bridge her experiences in different non-profit environments with her passion for facilitating opportunities and resources for artists and creatives. Shayna co-founded and works with the Prep in Arts Initiative: an alumni group formed to extend knowledge and provide experiences to the larger Prep for Prep community. She also ran a grassroots organization serving emerging artists and anticipating their needs.

Chris is a master printer at the Print Program. He has been working as a printer in New York for over 15 years, and collaborates with artists in all types of media to execute their visions. He studied print making at Columbia College in Chicago. In addition to print making, Chris’ own art practice includes collage and stipple.

Phoenix Lindsey-Hall
Operations Director
An artist, educator, and administrator, Phoenix brings a distinct mastery of material studies and fabrication to their role as Director of Shops at Powerhouse. They previously directed the Parsons Donghia Materials Library at the Parsons School of Design, and facilitated the building implementation of the Parsons Making Center as the Coordinator of Academic Resources, implementing dynamic programming and resources with a focus on fabrication for the New School. Phoenix holds a B.F.A. in Photography from Savannah College of Art and an M.F.A. in Photography from Parsons School of Design.
Angélica Maria Millán Lozano
Artist Experience Manager
Angélica is responsible for leading all interaction with artists and visitors engaging with Powerhouse in multifaceted ways. She also serves as the front line for artist client services, communication, and client data tracking. In her artistic practice, she creates abstract and figurative compositions on fabrics and garments.
Ben Nortey
Technology Support Specialist
Ben is the Application Support Specialist at Powerhouse. He plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Operations with technical and application support of the organization. Prior to joining Powerhouse, Ben received his B.A. in Anthropology at Reed College. He has had rich professional experiences across the Tech, Digital Media and the Arts fields. In his free time, Ben loves to paint murals, document New York's vibrant street culture, and doesn’t mind getting dirty while exploring the often-overlooked nooks, crannies, and crevices of this vast concrete jungle.

Biata Roytburd
Director of Ceramic
Biata is a classically trained sculptor, contributing over ten years of experience in ceramic fabrication and education. She received her BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in 2010. She studied anatomy and sculpture in clay at the Salzburg International Academy of Fine Arts. With a focus on porcelain, she has expertise in various ceramic processes including sculpture, slip casting, mold-making, hand-building, throwing, glazing, and firing. Biata has extensive experience with realizing ambitious site-specific artwork commissions and installations. She describes herself as having a meticulous eye when it comes to her craft and will be continuing her development as a ceramic artist in early March as a Greenwich House Pottery Resident.
Yarisbeth Sagardia

Yarisbeth comes to us from Artnet where she served as the Generalist of Human Resources for 6 years. She is a native New Yorker from Brooklyn and received her BM in Corporate Communications from Baruch College and her Certificate of Professional Human Resources from Pace University. She is a lover and admirer of visual arts. She works collaboratively with our team to develop and foster inclusive HR practices that support an environment where employees can thrive.
Anika Selhorst
Co-Executive Director
Bringing two decades of experience as an arts educator to her role of Co-Executive Director, Anika is passionate about the role of the arts in supporting healthy, vibrant communities. Before joining the team, Anika worked as the Director of the Art Center at 92Y and as the Director of In-School Programs for City Lore. She studied anthropology and visual arts at Brown, and received her Ed.M from Harvard.
Eric Shiner
President
Eric Shiner was most recently the executive director of Pioneer Works in Brooklyn. He was formerly artistic director of White Cube, New York and senior vice president of contemporary art at Sotheby’s. Prior to this, Shiner was the director of The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh from 2010 to 2016, and was the Milton Fine Curator of Art at The Warhol from 2008 to 2010. A leading scholar on Andy Warhol and Asian contemporary art, Shiner lived and worked in Japan for a total of six years and was assistant curator on the inaugural Yokohama Triennale in 2001. Shiner has curated dozens of contemporary art exhibitions in cities around the globe and was the team leader on The Warhol Museum’s major Warhol retrospective that traveled to Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Tokyo between 2012 and 2014. Notable exhibitions include Andy Warhol | Ai Weiwei in 2015/16, Deborah Kass: Before and Happily Ever After in 2012, Armory Focus: USA at the Armory Show in 2013 and Armory Platform in 2017. He is the immediate past President of the board of Visual AIDS, a NYC-based nonprofit promoting the artistic legacy of those artists lost to and living with AIDS, and a board member of The Romare Bearden Foundation and Art at a Time Like This. He lives in NYC and upstate New York with his partner, Dr. Ishaan Kumar, and their long-haired dachshund, Juno.

Jenn Williams
Community Engagement & Partnerships Director
Jenn is a practicing artist, educator, and administrator, with over a decade of experience implementing high-quality, interdisciplinary arts programs for 100+ public schools and Community-Based Organizations in New York. With the core belief that all communities deserve equitable access to the arts, Jenn has developed inclusive programs, published curriculum guides, and trained educators in how to use the arts as a tool for understanding, development, and social change. Jenn was selected as an Emerging Leader by the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2019, studied studio art and social practice at Hanover College, and received their MA from New York University.
Dana Wood Zinsser
Senior Printmaker
Dana is a visual artist living in Brooklyn, New York. After receiving her B.F.A. with a concentration in printmaking from Pratt Institute in 2011 Dana has worked in many high profile artist studios and print shops. Dana brings her expertise in screen printing, intaglio and lithography to the Powerhouse team.
